FABRIC STORY
Product details
| SHAOXING HENGHUI TEXTILE CO., LTD. | ITEM NO. 8690 · SERIES CT-8690 |
— Item 8690
100% COTTON
TWILL 2/1
148-150 CM
Item 8690 is a 100% cotton in a 1/1 plain weave carrying a horizontal slub yarn, at 365 GSM. The surface is broken by irregular horizontal ridges running across the width — the washed, textured face that gives this cloth its rugged autumn character.
At 365 GSM it is a mid-to-heavy weight with real body. It drapes firmly rather than softly, so it holds a line in a garment and reads as a proper outerwear and workwear cloth. The washed finish knocks back the shine and leaves the surface dry and matte.
The shade card runs on a muted military palette — olive, khaki, stone, taupe, slate blue, dark navy, charcoal and black. Custom dyeing to your own Pantone TCX is available, with a lab dip approved before bulk production.

A 100% cotton twill that covers workwear, outerwear, jackets and shirts from a single quality.
The dry, matte surface is the whole point of this cloth — it reads broken-in and rugged rather than crisp and new.
A sand-worn finish knocks back the shine and leaves a dry, matte surface that suits autumn and winter lines.
At 360 GSM the fabric holds its own line in a garment — structured enough for outerwear, soft enough to wear all day.
Olive, khaki, stone, taupe, slate, navy, charcoal and black — ready to ship for sampling.
Light = warp yarn, dark = weft yarn. The base structure of Item 8690 is a 1/1 plain weave — warp and weft interlace one over one. The horizontal slub comes from the yarn itself: a thicker, irregular weft that floats across the width, so the ridges run side to side rather than on the diagonal. The draft below is generated from this item’s own detected structure, not a generic pattern.
Real surface of Item 8690, showing the horizontal slub ridges crossing the plain weave ground.
One washed 100% cotton slub that covers men’s and unisex lines alike — across Japanese workwear, military-inspired outerwear and rugged everyday autumn dressing.

A: The twill wale runs diagonally across the cloth and the surface is washed down to a dry, matte finish, so the fabric reads soft and broken-in rather than crisp. The color sits unevenly across the wale, which is what gives it the worn character.
A: 360 GSM is a mid weight with real body. It works as a standalone jacket or coat for autumn and winter, and it is substantial enough to be worn on its own without a mid-layer.
A: Warp 3% and weft 1%. We confirm hand-feel and shrinkage on sampling before bulk production.
A: Yes. Send us the code with your inquiry and we will match it per lab dip before bulk dyeing. Buyer-supplied colors are also welcome.
A: Yes. Item 8690 is 100% cotton. There is no synthetic fibre in the blend, so the hand stays natural and breathable, and the cloth takes a wash or worn finish without any barrier.
