Tencel Cotton 300 GSM
150 CM
60% TENCEL / 40% COTTON
Item 6011 is a woven tencel-rich cotton blend — 60% tencel / 40% cotton — in a gabardine (twill) weave carrying a soft, fluffy, washed hand, finished at 300 GSM and 150 cm wide in solid dyed shades. The tencel brings the silkiness and drape, while the coarse cotton yarn adds body and a fluffy, warm surface — together they give a cloth that is soft against the skin yet substantial enough to hold a clean, structured line.
The washed finish is what sets this cloth apart. Tencel fibrillates under the wet-heat of washing, raising a fine, even nap that gives the surface a gentle, light-fluff character — the “fluffy tencel cotton” hand that reads warm and considered rather than flat. At 300 GSM the cloth is weighted for autumn and winter, balancing warmth with breathability, and the gabardine weave adds a subtle, durable diagonal that resists pilling and holds its shape through wear.

Four properties decide how this cloth behaves in wear. The tencel leads the drape and softness, the cotton adds fluffy body and warmth, the washed finish raises the nap, and the 300 GSM weight holds everything together for the colder seasons.
Where this weight sits. At 300 GSM the cloth is a true autumn-winter weight — substantial enough for a coat or a structured trouser, yet soft enough to drape a skirt or a dress. The honest trade-off is that the cotton content, while it adds warmth and fluff, means the cloth will crease a little more readily than a synthetic blend — part of its natural, lived-in character.
This is 60% tencel and 40% cotton, and the washed finish is the point of difference. Tencel fibrillates under wet-heat, raising a fine, even nap that gives the surface a soft, light-fluff character — the “fluffy tencel cotton” hand. The cotton yarn adds body and warmth, so the cloth reads soft and cosy against the skin rather than smooth and synthetic. It is the kind of hand that makes a garment feel considered from the first wear.
The 300 GSM weight is the balance point for autumn and winter. It is heavy enough to hold warmth and hold a clean line in a coat or a structured trouser, yet the tencel keeps the cloth breathable and absorbent, so it never feels stuffy against the skin. The gabardine weave adds a durable, pill-resistant diagonal that holds its shape through repeated wear.
The coarse tencel and cotton yarns are interwoven so the cloth keeps the drape of tencel and the fluffy body of cotton at once. The result is a fabric that is soft against the skin and structured off the body — the exact balance a tailored coat, a pleated skirt or a relaxed suit needs. It shapes rather than sags, and reads modern rather than stiff.
The gabardine construction and the washed finish work together to keep the cloth durable and neat. The surface resists pilling, and the cloth relaxes its own creases rather than holding them — so a garment made from it looks better after a few wears, not worse. The comfort is built in, not waiting to happen.
At 300 GSM and 150 cm this is a true autumn-winter weight. The soft, fluffy hand and the structured body make it the natural choice for suits, coats, skirts and structured trousers, while the tencel drape carries dresses and shirts.
This is the core use. The 300 GSM weight and the gabardine body hold a clean, structured line in a coat, a blazer or a relaxed suit, while the washed fluffy hand keeps the garment soft rather than stiff. It reads warm and considered through autumn and winter.
Off the body the same construction works as a pleated skirt, a structured trouser or a dress. The tencel drape gives movement, the cotton fluff gives warmth, and the 300 GSM weight holds the shape. It is versatile enough to move from the transition season into deep winter.
The color range runs from naturals and whites through warm apricots, olives, greys, blues and deep coffee tones — a full 44 stocked shades held for immediate dispatch. Custom solid dyeing to Pantone TCX is available for development orders, and because the cloth is tencel-led it takes dye cleanly and evenly.
Hand samples and cutting samples are supplied before bulk production, either from stock greige or from a lab dip matched to your shade. For this construction we recommend sampling the finished cloth rather than the yarn alone: at 60% tencel / 40% cotton the fluffy hand, the drape and the washed character are all decided by the fibre and its finishing.
Development runs around three points: the shade matched to Pantone TCX, the weight confirmed against the end use, and the finish route confirmed with the mill. The washed fluffy finish is a defining feature here, and we test shrinkage, pilling and crease behaviour on a finished sample before bulk. Full-width greige and finished samples, small trial orders and custom development are supported for new customers.
