Matt Reticulation Fabric
150 CM
DOUBLE-FACED DRAPE SATIN WEAVE
97% POLYESTER 3% SPANDEX
This woven matt reticulation fabric is 97% polyester 3% spandex in an full-dull double-faced satin construction. The dense, dry matte surface has a soft, smooth hand with a low-shine finish that stays cool and comfortable against the skin, and a fluid drape that moves without clinging
At 265 GSM this sits in the light-to-midweight range — light on the body with an easy, flowing drape and confident opacity, while the matte finish keeps it looking calm rather than shiny. It is a go-to fabric for modest fashion and dressmaking: flowing maxi dresses, abayas and kaftans, plus headscarves, hijabs, shawls and evening gowns — styles in steady demand across the Middle East, North Africa and Europe & America. The 150 cm width allows efficient marker making for long dress panels and generous scarf blanks alike Available in 40 in-stock dyed colors, with custom solid dyeing or printing in our 55-color morandi tone library or your own Pantone references.

Craft Differentiation: Full-Dull Yarn Is Not a Textured YarnFULL-DULL FILAMENT · DULL-CALIBRATED DYEING
Why a matte surface made by chemistry behaves nothing like a matte surface made by texture, and why the dye recipe has to be calibrated for it.
A matte surface can be produced in two very different ways, and the difference decides the whole making route. One is a textured yarn that shrinks unevenly; the other is a filament whose own chemistry scatters the light. They look similar on a hanger and behave nothing alike in production. At 265 GSM this fabric is a 97% polyester 3% spandex blend built on full-dull (matte) filament in both warp and weft, with a 40D spandex carried on both axes. The matte character is therefore not a finish applied to a smooth cloth. It is in the yarn itself, which is why it survives washing instead of fading into a shine over time. The fine reticulated surface comes from the weave, not from uneven yarn shrink. At Shaoxing Henghui Textile Co., Ltd., we develop Matt Reticulation around three points: a consistent full-dull yarn package, a dyeing route calibrated for dull yarn and a stretch-safe finishing process that keeps the surface matte. 1. Why Two Matte Fabrics Behave DifferentlyA matte surface hides nothing, so every fault stays visible. Two fabrics can look equally dull and still fail differently. Potential problems include:
For garment manufacturers these problems affect more than appearance. They increase inspection requirements, complicate cutting and create additional production cost. This is why quality should be judged not only by the hand at sample stage, but also by whether the yarn and finishing routes were developed for a full-dull cloth. 2. What Full-Dull Yarn Actually ChangesThe composition is 97% polyester and 3% spandex. The polyester is a full-dull filament, made light-absorbing rather than light-reflecting, so the surface scatters light in every direction. That single property drives most of the making route. Matte That Lasts
The dull character is in the yarn, not in a finish, so it does not turn glossy with wear or washing.
Fine Reticulated Surface
The visible grid comes from the weave construction, giving an even, regular texture rather than a random one.
Two-Way Recovery
Elastane in warp and weft returns the cloth to shape lengthwise and widthwise, so panels stay in proportion.
Substantial Body at 265 GSM
The weight gives a soft sculpted fall on an abaya or robe while the stretch keeps it from feeling heavy.
3. Dyeing: Dull Yarn Needs Its Own RecipeBecause the filament is light-absorbing, it does not take dye the way a bright filament does. Copying a standard polyester route produces weak, uneven color, so the recipe and the temperature curve are developed for the dull yarn specifically. How the Process Works
Step 1 — Dull-calibrated fixation. Dye is fixed on a curve set for a light-absorbing filament so the shade builds evenly across the full width instead of appearing weak and washed out.
Step 2 — Careful reduction. Surface color is cleared gently. Over-reduction on a dull cloth drains the depth and leaves it looking dusty rather than rich.
Step 3 — Low-tension dyeing. A heavy two-way stretch cloth is easily pulled out of shape, so tension is controlled to hold the width stable and prevent spiralling at cutting.
Why This Matters On a matte surface the eye picks up shading differences that a shiny fabric would hide. A batch that is slightly off in the deep tones reads as two different colors side by side once panels are sewn, and a buyer wearing an abaya sees it immediately. Fixing that at the dyeing stage is far cheaper than a rejected lot. 4. Finishing for a Soft Dull HandThe aim is a soft, dry, fully matte handle. Because the cloth carries elastane, the setting route has to protect the recovery as well as the surface. Matte Kept, Gloss Avoided. Calendering and polishing are kept light so the high points of the reticulation do not develop shine. Recovery Kept on Both Axes. Setting is balanced against the elastane so the fabric returns to shape after wear. Soft Hand at This Weight. At 265 GSM the finish removes stiffness without adding a coated feel, which is what makes the fabric comfortable against the skin. Color Fastness Color fastness is an important consideration for a fabric worn against the skin and often washed at home. The actual grade should be confirmed through testing under the applicable standard and test conditions. Where supported by laboratory results, a grade of 4 or above can be specified in the product documentation. For bulk orders, we recommend confirming the required color fastness, shade tolerance, shrinkage expectation and width tolerance before production. Lab dip approval is carried out before bulk production. 5. Why Fabric Quality Matters to Garment ManufacturersMatte stretch fabrics are often bought on the hand of a sample. But when the dye and setting routes are not controlled, the cost appears later in cutting and in wear. Potential consequences include:
At Henghui Textile, we believe reliable fabric quality begins with the making process, not with the final inspection alone. Our approach emphasises a consistent full-dull yarn package, a dull-calibrated dyeing route and a finishing process tuned for a soft matte hand, communicated clearly with customers about the requirements of their intended applications. 6. Applications of Matt ReticulationWith a fully matte surface, two-way recovery and substantial body, this fabric can be considered for a range of modest and occasion applications, depending on its actual finish. Potential applications include:
For buyers developing a new collection, the final suitability should be evaluated against the garment design, required drape, opacity, comfort and care instructions. Our team can work with buyers to confirm the relevant specifications and finishing requirements before bulk production. 7. Quality Begins with Process ControlAt Shaoxing Henghui Textile Co., Ltd., we understand that the difference between an acceptable matte cloth and a reliable production matte cloth often lies in details that are not immediately visible. Yarn dullness, warp tension, dye fixation, reduction, setting temperature and handling all contribute to the final result. We do not run the same route on every fabric. A full-dull two-way stretch cloth at 265 GSM, a textured composite crepe and a bright-filament satin are three different constructions and need three different dye and set logics; treating them the same is what causes the weak color and shine problems described above.
