Item 6013 is a woven lyocell-cotton blend — 50% lyocell / 50% cotton — in a cavalry twill (steep twill) weave, finished at 180 GSM and 150 cm wide in solid dyed shades. The balance is deliberate: an even half-and-half blend splits the difference between the silky, fluid drape of lyocell and the soft, familiar warmth of cotton, so the cloth reads cool, light and natural without leaning too far either way.

The cavalry twill is the point of difference. Unlike a plain or regular twill, the steep, sharply-angled diagonal grain gives the surface a cleaner, more defined line — a quiet structure that lifts the cloth above a flat solid dye. At 180 GSM it is a true light-to-mid weight: fluid enough to drape a shirt or a pleated skirt, yet with just enough body to hold a trouser or a light coat. The result is a versatile four-season cloth that moves easily between casual and tailored.

Four properties decide how this cloth behaves in wear. The lyocell leads the drape and the moisture behaviour, the cotton softens the hand, the cavalry twill defines the surface, and the 180 GSM weight keeps it light and fluid for a full season.

The cavalry twill is the signature. The cotton softens the touch, and together the two keep the fabric breathable, absorbent and comfortable against sensitive skin. It is the reason this construction is specified for garments worn directly against the body.

At 180 GSM and 150 cm this is a versatile light-to-mid weight. The lyocell drape carries shirts, blouses, dresses and pleated skirts, while the cavalry twill gives enough body for a trouser, a light coat or a relaxed suit. It works across the seasons and into the transition.

This is the core use. The soft, fluid lyocell drape means a relaxed shirt, a blouse or a bias-cut dress falls rather than clings, and the cavalry twill gives the surface a quiet, defined texture. The cloth reads cool and natural through a full day rather than sagging by evening.

Off the body the same construction works as a trouser, a pleated skirt or a light coat. At 180 GSM there is enough body to hold a clean line, while the lyocell drape means the cloth moves easily and relaxes on its own. With interlining or bonding the garment range widens further into outerwear.

The color range is deliberately broad — a full 74 stocked shades running from wine reds and naturals through apricots, khakis, olives, greys, blues and deep coffee tones, held for immediate dispatch. Custom solid dyeing to Pantone TCX is available for development orders, and because the cloth is lyocell-led it takes dye cleanly and evenly — one of the reasons this construction is used for color-critical work.

Hand samples and cutting samples are supplied before bulk production, either from stock greige or from a lab dip matched to your shade. For this construction we recommend sampling the finished cloth rather than the yarn alone: at 50% lyocell / 50% cotton the hand, the drape and the twill character are all decided by the fibre and its finishing, and cannot be judged from a fibre sample.

Development runs around three points: the shade matched to Pantone TCX, the weight confirmed against the end use, and the finish route confirmed with the mill. The cavalry twill weave is a defining feature here, and we test shrinkage and crease behaviour on a finished sample before bulk is scheduled.
